The Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in conjunction with Mazad and Tattersalls are delighted to announce the second edition of the Club’s Horse Auction which will take place on Tuesday 13th February in the parade ring of the REHC.

Following the success of the inaugural event in 2023, the REHC will once again host a sale for racehorses currently in training, offering owners the chance to purchase and sell horses at auction. All the transactions will be managed by Mazad, the Kingdom’s leading provider of auction services, with the auction conducted by Harvey Bell from Tattersalls, a company with a history of selling horses dating back to 1766.

Last year over 50 horses were offered for sale, of which 34 were sold, generating a turnover of BHD 53,250, with the top lot LYRA (BH) selling for BHD 6,000. Among the successful graduates of the sale were WAHAAJ (BH) who was purchased by Hassan Al Jaboori from Al Nuwayef Racing for BHD3,000, and has since won twice this season. Additionally, IBN ARABI (IRE), purchased by Al Nasser Syndicate from Al Afoo Racing for just BHD 1,500, has won and recently finished 5th in the $80,000 Al Riffa Cup, part of the Bahrain Turf Series.

This year’s catalogue is set to be published on February 6th.
