Byline and Immortal seal victory
Trained by A Smith and ridden by Frankie Dettori, Byline won the 1,600 metre seventh race of the day leaving Coolagh Forest of MKAR Racing in the second place. KHK Racing’s Beauchamp Bagenal finished third.
The winner of the day’s top race for class 1, grade 1 imported horses aged three and above also collected a prize of BD12,000.
MKAR Racing’s Immortal won the sixth race for the Southern Governor Cup ahead of Epic, owned by Abdulla Fawzi Nass and Taufan, owned by Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The fifth race, for the Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) Cup, was won by Al Afoo Racing Stable’s Assel while Good News, owned by M and E Racing, claimed the top spot in the fourth race for Banagas Cup.
Winner
Port Douglas of Al Hassanain Syndicate emerged the winner in the third race for the Horse Welfare Authority Cup while Sabreena, owned by Victorious, won the second race for the Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa Cup.
Kuheilan Afas 1695 of Al Wasmiya claimed the top spot in the first race of the day, for the Hasan bin Saleh Al Rowai Cup. Kuheilan Afas 1708 and Tuwaisan 1762, both owned by Victorious, claimed the second and third spots.
Present on the occasion were Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Environment deputy chairman and the club’s High Committee deputy chairman Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Banagas director general, administrative and financial affairs, Dr Ahmed bin Ali Al Kaabi and Horse Care Affairs Authority CEO Youssef Al Isa.
